Material: Stainless Steel 304 or 316 Multi-media filters (also named Mechanical filters) consist of several layers of different media. The media are loaded by density, the most dense in the bottom of the tank, the least dense on top. This produces a filter with excellent flow rate and relatively easy backwash properties that will filter down to ten microns. It is mainly used for the pretreatment before RO, ED, ion exchange, softening, salt removal processes and also for the treatment of industrial water, cyclic cooling water, sewage as well as reuse of intermediate water. It features low cost, simple operation, reliable, and able to achieve greater than 99.9 percent Giardia cyst removal. It also does not require extensive active control by an operator.
